Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau warned the United States of “a strong, but reasonable” immediate response, “as the watch is expected to target the Canadian goods, which is expected to come from the United States on Saturday.
One day before this procedure, which is looming on the horizon, Trudeau meets with the newly formed relations council and the United States on Friday.
In his opening statements before the meeting, Trudeau said that Canada was “a critical moment” as US President Donald Trump doubled his threat on Thursday, saying that a 25 percent tariff on the goods coming from Canada and Mexico would be imposed on Saturday.
“If the president chooses to implement any tariff against Canada, we are ready to respond – a strong, but reasonable response,” Trudeau said.

Speaking to the White House journalists on Thursday, Trump said the definitions “may rise or not rise with time” and will decide whether to include oil.
He said that the definitions will be announced “for several reasons”, including the flow of migrants and fentanel, as well as a “very large deficit” in trade with Canada and Mexico.
Trudeau has already pledged that Canada’s response to Trump’s tariff “would be strong, fast and measuring, but very strong.”
He also said he supports “the principle of the dollar against the compatible dollar.”
