The Ministry of Health said on Thursday that Uganda confirmed the outbreak of the Ebola virus in the capital, Kampala, with the first confirmed patient to die on Wednesday.
It is the outbreak of the ninth country in East Africa since it recorded its first viral infection in 2000.
The patient, a male nurse at the Malago National Referral Hospital in Kampala, initially sought treatment in various facilities, including Mulajo, as well as with the traditional therapist, after developing a fever -like symptoms.
“The patient has suffered from a multi -organizer failure and surrendered to the disease at the Mawaljo National Hospital on January 29. Post -death samples confirmed the disease of the Ebola virus Sudan,” the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry said that forty -four calls to the deceased man were included in the tracking, including 30 workers from the health worker.
