A man and a woman had to be saved by the US Coast Guard Monday evening after the sailboat was exposed.
The US Coast Guard said that Pogit Sound Watters received a Midai’s call via VHF radio from the sailing boat commander around 7 pm
He said that sailing boats were handicapped and avoided towards the ground.
The Coast Guard said that snow conditions and 25 to 30 miles were reported with a seas of four to six feet as the weather on the site.
The command center launched a rescue boat from the Belandham Station with a crew of a helicopter from the air station port.

The Coast Guard said that while they were trying to rescue, the sailboat ran. After the mast collapsed from the ship, the crew reduced a rescue swimmer to reach the spouses.

The rescue swimmer was able to find the man and raised it to the rescue boat, and the helicopter crew directed the boat to the woman’s location in the water.

The Coast Guard said the Coast Guard had been found, and the rescue crew immediately began CPR when it was raised in the boat.
The woman was transferred in the helicopter to the Saint Jevance Medical Center in Bellingham. Unfortunately, the Coast Guard said it surrendered to her injuries.
The man was returned to the base and transferred by ground ambulance to the same hospital.
A coast guard member was taken while rescuing the hospital for evaluation and later released that night.
