Poland President Andrig Doda said on Tuesday that he had received guarantees that Washington will not reduce its presence in Poland and other places along the eastern side of NATO.
The administration of US President Donald Trump has not announced any plans to remove the forces outside the region, but said that Europe should do more to provide its security. His administration’s position raised questions in the region about whether Washington will maintain its long obligations to NATO partners.
“There are no concerns that the United States will reduce its level in our country, and that the United States will withdraw in any way responsibility or shared responsibility for the security of this part of Europe,” Doda told reporters in Warsaw.

Doda, who had long been friendly with Trump, spoke with correspondents after meeting General Keith Keel, the American special envoy for Ukraine and Russia.
