Best-selling British author Neil Gaiman issued a statement on Wednesday denying he had non-consensual sex after this week’s magazine. Published allegations from several womenHe was accused of sexual assault.

“I also realized, when I looked at them, years later, that I could have, and should have, done a much better job. I was not emotionally available while I was sexually available, self-focused, and I was not as thoughtful as I could or should have been,” he said. Most of the allegations relate to occasions when Gaiman was in his 40s or older and living in the United States, Britain and New Zealand.
