Minister of National Defense Bill Blair announced that Canada would send $64.8 million in military aid to Ukraine.
Blair made the announcement during a meeting of NATO defense ministers in Brussels, where the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia was a major topic.
More than $50 million will be allocated to purchase weapons, ammunition, military drones, as well as uniforms and personal protective equipment for Ukrainian soldiers.

The remaining funding is to support the military training of these soldiers and strengthen the Ukrainian electronic forces.
The money comes from $500 million promised by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at a NATO summit in July.
Canada has pledged more than $19.5 billion to support Ukraine since the Russian invasion in February 2022.
