A 26-year-old British man has died after falling from one of the tallest bridges in Spain while creating content for his social media pages.
The man was climbing the bridge, the highest suspension structure in the country, on Sunday in Talavera de la Reina, a city located about 110 kilometers southwest of Madrid.
Local authorities confirmed that he was climbing the Castilla-La Mancha Bridge alongside another content creator, aged 24, when he fell to his death.
Neither man has been identified.
Macarena Muñoz, the city’s citizen security advisor, said in a statement that climbing the 192-meter-high bridge is “difficult.”Strictly prohibitedWhat they “repeated on numerous occasions cannot be done under any circumstances.”

Local media report that climbers and social media creators have long been drawn to the bridge, which opened in 2011, despite numerous bans and warnings.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time someone has died while trying hard to take the perfect selfie or photo for their social media followers.
In 2021, an influencer died while trying to take a selfie in front of a waterfall in Ha Pak Lai Park in Hong Kong. She lost her footing and fell into the pool of the falls below.
