A 37-year-old photographer has died after being hit by an airplane propeller in Kansas, officials confirmed.
Amanda Gallagher was taking photos of groups of skydivers Saturday afternoon at Capital Air Drop Zonenear Wichita, when the tragic accident occurred.
According to the skydiving company, she flew into the air to take photos of a group of people and directed the plane down after all the skydivers had jumped.
Returning to the ground, she exited the Cessna 182 and moved toward a dangerous area of the aircraft, while it was still in operation.
“For unknown reasons… I moved in front of Wing A Violation of basic safety procedures“With the camera raised to take photos as she did this, she backed slightly toward and into the rotating propeller,” the Air Capital Drop District said in a statement to ABC News.

It was Gallagher He was seriously injuredand was taken to a local hospital where she later died, local NBC affiliate KSNW reported.

A post on the Cook Airfield Facebook page, where the accident occurred, did not include any speculation about the circumstances surrounding the accident.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the young lady who passed away yesterday,” they wrote in their post.
