Billionaire technology executive, Elon Musk, made sharp criticism of the upcoming presidential elections during his appearance with Donald Trump, describing the Republican presidential candidate as the only candidate “to preserve democracy in America.”

Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, who also bought the X, joined Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday at the site where the former president survived an assassination attempt in July. “This will be the last election” if Trump doesn’t win, Musk said. Musk, wearing a hat bearing the “Make America Great Again” slogan used in Trump’s campaign, appeared to acknowledge the alarming nature of his comments.

“You see, I’m not just MAGA — I’m Dark MAGA,” he said.

This was the first time Musk had joined one of Trump’s rallies, and was evidence of their growing alliance in the final stretch of the presidential election. Musk created a super PAC to support the Republican candidate, and has been spending significant sums on get-out-the-vote efforts. Trump said he would appoint Musk to lead the Government Efficiency Commission if he returned to the White House.

In front of a large crowd on Saturday, Musk sought to portray Trump as a champion of free speech, arguing that Democrats want to “take away your freedom of speech, they want to take away your right to bear arms, they want to take away your right to free speech.” Vote effectively.” Musk went on to criticize California’s efforts to ban voter ID requirements.

The event occurred on the same property where a gunman’s bullet struck Trump’s right ear and killed a Trump supporter, Corey Comperatore. The shooting resulted in the injury of several other people.

Several members of the Comperatore family, as well as other attendees and first responders from the July rally, returned to the site Saturday. Also appearing with the former president were his running mate, Ohio Republican Senator J.D. Vance, his son Eric Trump, his daughter-in-law and co-chair of the Republican National Committee Lara Trump, along with lawmakers and Pennsylvania mayors.
