Flair Airlines CFO Sumanth Rao faces manslaughter charges in connection with a fatal crash involving an underage driver who had been drinking at his Atlanta-area home.
Flair said in an emailed statement that he is aware of the situation and has taken measures to “ensure continuity of operations” as the court case against Rao, who was appointed in August, develops.
The DeKalb County District Attorney in Georgia says a grand jury has indicted Rao, his wife and the teenage driver of the SUV, in which his daughter was a passenger.

Sherri Boston says their daughter and the 18-year-old driver were able to crawl out of the car after a collision on a residential road on February 24, but passenger Sofia Likiachvili died from her injuries at the hospital.
Boston says data from the SUV showed that driver Hannah Hackmeyer, who was charged with vehicular homicide and impaired driving, was traveling nearly 100 kilometers per hour over the posted limit and never applied the brakes.

The District Attorney’s Office says Rao’s daughter and two friends spent the evening at the family home, where the teens shared a bottle of wine in the kitchen in full view of their parents, who allowed them to leave for a car ride shortly before midnight.
